If you are looking for a rewarding genealogy transcription project, the German Genealogy Group is seeking more volunteers for a Manhattan birth index project.
Volunteers have finished indexing Brooklyn birth records, adding over 100,000 records that were missing from the GGG original index database. Now volunteers have begun working on an index for Manhattan birth records for 1866 – 1880. This can be done from home by accessing the NYC Historical Vital Records website, and transcribing names and dates into a spreadsheet template.
