The Genealogy Federation of Long Island was recently mentioned in an article in Newsday entitled “In Their Footsteps.”
The article was the cover story in the Long Island Life section on Sunday, Jan. 21. It featured interviews with several individuals who have traveled to other countries to connect to their family roots. Some of those interviewed are members of Federation groups.
Local organizations receiving mention were the Italian Genealogical Society, which meets monthly at the Bethpage Public Library, and the Joysetta & Julius Pierce African American Museum of Nassau County, located in Hempstead.
Two libraries which are part of the Federation, – Brentwood Public Library and Patchogue-Medford Public Library – were also mentioned.
