Here are a few more ideas for some genealogy activities we can all do from home.
Free genealogy lessons are being given on the genealogy blog “Digging Up the Dirt on My Dead People,” hosted by April Earle, a librarian at Farmingdale State College.
To get started on her lessons, go to: https://diggingupthedirtonmydeadpeople.blogspot.com/2020/03/online-genealogy-lessons-1-5.html
Those with library cards in Suffolk County can check and see if their library subscribes to a streaming service called Kanopy. Kanopy has a 15 lesson series from Great Courses entitled “Discovering Your Roots: An Introduction to Genealogy” hosted by John Philip Colletta.
And don’t forget, new webinars posted to Legacy Family Tree Webinars are free to non-subscribers for seven days. The exception to this is the Tech Zone webinars. They are only available if you have a subscription. And as previously posted here its 24 Hour Genealogy Marathon webinars are free until April 6.
Go to: https://familytreewebinars.com/ and click on Webinar Library. Click on View By Date to see the most recent webinars that are available for free.
