Aims or Purpose of Group

The Italian Genealogical Group, founded in 1994, has as its aim the exchange of ideas, information, and techniques regarding genealogical research with particular emphasis on Italian resources.


Service, Resources, or Benefits Provided to Members

The Italian Genealogical Group holds educational monthly meetings, maintains a database of Italian surnames, conducts field trips and publishes an educational newsletter to aid members in their research efforts.

The Italian Genealogical Group sponsors an annual scholarship for high school seniors with at least 25% Italian ancestry. Applicants must have a letter of recommendation written by a member of the Italian Genealogical Group as one of the criteria for the scholarship.


Normal Meeting Schedule (Please confirm before attending since schedules do change.)  

Meetings are open to the public.  There is no charge for guests or non-members.

Meetings are normally held the second Saturday of month, September through June, at 10:30 a.m. In December, a holiday luncheon is held in lieu of a regular program. A Help Desk, offering personal assistance for research problems, is available at 9:30 a.m. on meeting days.

Membership Information:

Membership year begins upon payment of dues. Dues can be paid by mail or online at the Italian Genealogical Group website.

Annual dues: $25/individual or $30/family if newsletter is received online; $35/individual or $40/family if newsletter is received by mail.
