Free offers to help with British genealogy research

The British company, The Genealogist, is offering a free “first steps package” for beginning researchers to use for three months.

The First Steps Package includes:

*Complete birth, marriage and death records index for England and Wales, 1837-2005

*English and Welsh census records in 1911

*TreeView, the online family tree builder

*Image archive of churches, places and people

*The monthly digital magazine, Discover Your Ancestor

Another offer to help with British research is available from the Manx National Heritage. Thousands of Isle of Man newspapers from 1792 to 1960 have been made available online for free during the current pandemic. The digital collection features about 450,000 pages of newsprint.
