Since the genetic genealogy revolution beginning in the late 1990s, more and more people have undertaken DNA testing to solve genealogical riddles on their family trees. For genetic genealogy, there are three main types of tests — Y-DNA, mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), and autosomal DNA. In his talk, Michael Waas will focus on Y-DNA — the various types of tests available and how Y-DNA testing can both assist our family research and teach us about Jewish history.
