From Avellino to Boston: Three Generations of an Italian-American Family – Hybrid

Presenter: Angela Harris

Follow the Buonopane–Moschella family from rural southern Italy to Boston’s North End and beyond as we trace their experiences across three generations. Drawing on genealogical records and community history, we’ll explore the social networks, neighborhood institutions, and significant events that shaped the family’s lives as they adapted to a new country. Along the way, their story touches on legal troubles that emerged in each generation—from Prohibition‑era arrests to a World War II court‑martial—offering a glimpse into how one family navigated both opportunity and adversity across changing times.
