Ancestry UK provides free access to WWII records

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day, Ancestry UK is allowing free access to its United Kingdom World War II collection from now until 7:59 p.m. on May 10.

Some of available collections include: 1939 England and Wales Register, prisoner of war records, military discharge indexes, alien internees, World War II civilian deaths, and military campaign medals and awards.

To view the records you will need to register for free with Ancestry.co.uk with your name and email address. You will be sent a username and password to access the records
